Vice President Harris’ feathers were ruffled when yet another reporter asked about her imminent plans to visit the border. During an interview with Univision anchor Ilia Calderón, the Vice President was shocked when another journalist did their job and inquired when she specifically plans to visit the border.
It’s now been 79 days since President Biden tapped Harris to lead the efforts to address the border crisis and she still hasn’t seen the devastation firsthand. Her absence has caused the American people and journalists to ask why she’s clearly shirking her responsibilities and Harris’ constant evasion of the subject hasn’t instilled confidence in her capabilities.

Fox News reports:
“I’ve said I’m going to the border,” Harris told the anchor. “And I-”
“When are you going to the border, Vice President?” Calderón asked during a remote interview.
As Harris was speaking, she heard Calderón’s slightly delayed question, which appeared to not sit well.
“I’m not finished,” Harris sternly replied along with a brief chuckle. “I’ve said I’m going to the border. And also if we are going to deal with the problems at the border, we have to deal with the problems that cause people to go to the border, to flee to the border. So my first trip as vice president of the United States was to go- in terms of a foreign trip- to Guatemala, to be on the ground there to address and to be informed of the root causes why are the people of Guatemala leaving.”
Calderón followed up the question by asking if Harris has a specific date for the border visit to which the Vice President simply replied “I will keep you posted.”
It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to read between the lines and conclude there is little-to-no chance Harris has any intention of visiting the border anytime soon.
Harris claimed that her recent trip to Guatemala was to understand the root causes of the border surge. The Guatemalan president has blamed the Biden administration’s relaxed messaging as the main driver of the border crisis.
