Texas Governor Greg Abbott criticized the CDC’s reversal and reiterated that Texas will not impose a mask mandate.
“Governor Abbott has been clear that the time for government mandating of masks is over — now is the time for personal responsibility,” a spokeswoman for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said in a statement. “Every Texan has the right to choose whether they will wear a mask, or have their children wear masks.”
The spokeswoman also reiterated that receiving the vaccine is the best defense against contracting Covid or any variants but Texas will not force citizens to get the jab.
