Chipman Racism Accusations 

David Chipman is Biden’s proposed nominee for the ATF, he is undoubtedly the most controversial nominee the agency has ever had and possibly one of Biden’s most controversial picks. Among these controversies are allegations that David Chipman is a racist, not just a racist but one that denied promotions to African Americans because of his bias. 

Numerous complaints were made about David Chipman’s promotion practices while he was serving at the ATF as an agent, these complaints were not revealed to Congress at the time of Chipman’s hearing but many agents at the ATF have come forward to share this information since then. 

The complaints were about remarks Chipman made to colleagues about African American agents who were up for promotion. Chipman denied some of these promotions and said that these men must have cheated in order to pass certain tests. 

One ATF agent came forward to The Reload and said “That one had to do with what’s called the assessment center, which would be to get promoted… Somebody would have had to file a complaint against him if he were a supervisor making those statements.”
