Obesity Action Coalition

The Obesity Action Coalition is an organization that played a key role in the CDC’s new “Inclusive Communication” guide. The organization advocated for the term “the obese” to be replaced with “people with obesity.” This organization does not even attempt to conceal what it’s doing, the group is dedicated to eliminating the stigma associated with obesity and this has a major impact in the doctor’s office. Doctors need to be honest with patients and tell them that there is a problem, if you are obese you put yourself at risk and doctors need to tell people what those risks are.
