Senator Josh Hawley(R-MO)

Missouri Senator Josh Hawley sank his fangs into Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas during a Senate hearing. 

Senator Hawley slammed Mayorkas’ handling of the border and the national security concerns that stem from it. Hawley was mainly interested to hear how exactly things were being handled, if at all. 

Senator Hawley pointed out to Mayorkas that the southern border has been bombarded with over 200,000 illegal migrants in both August and July. According to Mayorkas there is a plan being implemented that will take some time, this was not good enough for Hawley though. Hawley demanded that the public get a timeline for when this plan was going to start and when results would be seen. 

Mayorkas eventually submitted saying “we need to do better” while at the hearing.
