FBI Withholding Ransomware Decryption Tools
Small businesses across the country were attacked within a cyber terror incident and the FBI not only had the power to end the attack and chose not to, but they likely could have stopped any damage from ever being done. The Kaseya ransomware attack in July affected as many as 15,000 companies and the FBI had the decryption key required to free the computers under attack, they did not help these businesses until significant damage was already done. The FBI held this decryption key for 3 weeks before offering it to the public.
