Decimate the Power Grid
California also seeks to significantly cut down their greenhouse gas reduction timeline. Currently, they plan to reduce greenhouse gasses by 40% from 1990’s levels by 2030. Now, they’re pushing to reduce them by 55% by 2030.
This means more reliance on energy systems that shut down unexpectedly. While nuclear is green and clean energy and waste removal technology has increased significantly, that’s not even on the table. They plan to put more laws in place that will shut down coal power plants and all sorts of equipment that produce greenhouse gasses.
Not only will this devastate the economy, but it will also dampen technological advancement. The progress we would really need to solve a real-world catastrophe will slow dramatically. The poor will get poorer, Americans will suffer under immense new regulations, and the rich elites will live as they always have.
