Jussie Smollett Staged His Own Attack

In January of 2019, Jussie Smollett, an actor on the television show Empire, claimed that he was the victim of a hate crime. He said that he was attacked by two men who shouted racist and homophobic slurs at him, and that they also poured bleach on him and tied a rope around his neck. However, it was later revealed that Smollett had staged the entire attack himself in an attempt to garner sympathy and attention.
