45th President Donald Trump is breaking his silence on the recent attack on Paul Pelosi at his house, which has been widely reported to have been perpetrated by a man named David DePape. According to the incident, Paul Pelosi called 911 to report the intrusion, saying he knew DePape as a “friend.” DePape’s neighbors and ex-partner have affirmed that he has a history of mental illness.

The Hill reports:

“With Paul Pelosi, that’s a terrible thing, with all of them it’s a terrible thing,” Trump said in an interview with Americano Media, a conservative Spanish language outlet. “Look at what’s happened to San Francisco generally. Look at what’s happening in Chicago. It was far worse than Afghanistan.”

Reports indicate that Paul Pelosi underwent surgery for a skull fracture after reportedly being hit with a hammer.
