Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez opened up the House Oversight hearing on Twitter’s repression of the Hunter Biden laptop story, AOC called the story as a whole “half-fake,” choosing the deny the story is legitimate or even factual. However, at no point did she elaborate on which part of the story is not true.

Hunter Biden infamously was seen throughout multiple photos and videos on the laptop doing illegal drugs, and making homemade sex tapes while working a high-paying position on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy firm, despite having no previous experience in energy.

While the media and federal investigators called the story “Russian disinformation,” Hunter Biden has since seemingly admitted the laptop is his, as his attorney, Abbe Lowell, is looking to investigate the laptop repair shop where Hunter abandoned his laptop, as well as investigations into Rudy Giuliani, Steve Bannon.

At the start of the House Oversight hearing on Twitter’s repression of the Hunter Biden laptop story, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said:

“We could be talking about the cost of prescription drugs, abortion rights, civil rights, voting rights, but instead we’re talking about Hunter Biden’s half-fake laptop story. I mean, this is an embarrassment, but I’ll go into it…”

“The newspaper wasn’t sharing what it obtained. New York Post had this alleged information and was trying to publish it without any corroboration, without any backup information, they were trying to publish it to Twitter. Twitter did not let them, and now they were upset. I believe that political operatives who sought to inject explosive disinformation with the Washington Post couldn’t get away with it and now they’re livid, and they want the ability to do that again…”

“They want the ability to do it again. They want the ability to inject this again. So they’ve dragged a social media platform here in Congress, their weaponizing the use of this committee so that they can do it again. A whole hearing about a 24-hour hiccup in a right-wing political operation.”

In an early installment of the Twitter Files, evidence “pointing to an organized effort by representatives of the intelligence community (IC)” writes Shellenberger, adding that the “organized effort” was done in an attempt to “discredit leaked information about Hunter Biden before and after it was published.”

This could point to the reasoning for why the media was largely silent on the Hunter Biden laptop story. Before it could even be verified, it was labeled “Russian disinformation,” and “propaganda,” among other left-wing keywords typically used to discredit information before it had a chance to be verified.

Shellenberger goes on to point out that the FBI was in possession of the laptop since Dec. 2019, when Delaware computer and repair store owner John Paul (J.P.) Mac Isaac notified the FBI about the contents of the laptop left at the store by Hunter Biden. Biden had given the computer to Isaac for repair following liquid damage, then never came back to retain the laptop.

At this point, while many dots need to be connected behind the scenes in order to get a full picture of who else was involved in this and who may have made money off of Hunter’s position at Burisma, there is no evidence that the contents on the laptop are faked.
