President Trump has parted ways with long-time TV ad maker, Jamestown Associates. Trump had used the firm to create 2016 and 2020 campaign ads, and had even used them after 2020 – as recently as December. Though as Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina and ambassador under Trump, announced her run for the presidency in 2024 and became an official Trump rival she signed on with the firm. Trump and his team would not hear of his ad company working with an opponent so he cut ties with the firm.

According to Politico, in a statement released by Trump’s campaign spokesman Steven Cheung,

“The 2024 Trump campaign is doing many things differently, including moving in a new direction on paid media with fresh energy and new ideas.”

Breaking: Nikki Haley Announces 2024 Presidential Campaign

While there has not been a formal response from Jamestown or Haley’s campaign those familiar with the situation have said that Jamestown’s President, Barney Keller, had signed on with Haley to work her campaign separately from the firm. He was set to “stay firewalled off from the rest of the firm during the campaign.”

Though, what kind of look is that? One firm, albeit one that handles all sorts of GOP elections, handling two rivaling opponents for the biggest race on their rooster. While the President was planning to take on Haley as an independent client, it can be assumed he would need other employees of the firm to produce ads, ads that would slander the president – most likely.

While it could be spun that Trump was dropped because the firm took on Haley, any rational person would leave an organization that took on their rival as a client. It just isn’t good business.
