President Trump has unveiled his proposal for a year-long celebration called “Salute to America,” coinciding with the approaching 250th anniversary of the United States. The objective of this event is to create an unparalleled national “birthday party” that will go down in history. It will feature a grand Great American State Fair, serving as a platform to showcase the unique attributes of each state. Furthermore, nationwide high school sporting competitions will be held to engage young athletes across the country. Additionally, a National Garden of American Heroes will be established. President Trump firmly believes that the Great American State Fair will not only illuminate the remarkable achievements of every state but also instill a sense of pride in American heritage and introduce fresh and visionary perspectives for the nation’s future.

The event is set to take place as “an entire year of festivities across the nation starting on Memorial Day 2025 and continuing through July 4th, 2026.”

Former President Trump has unveiled his vision for a yearlong celebration commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States’ founding in 1776. Trump envisions a grand event akin to a contemporary world’s fair, to be held at the Iowa state fairgrounds and dubbed the Great American State Fair.

This extravaganza would feature pavilions representing all 50 states, showcasing American history and aspirations for the future. Trump proposes incorporating engaging activities like the “Patriot Games” for high school athletes and reviving the concept of the “National Garden of American Heroes.” He also intends to extend invitations to international dignitaries, foreseeing a substantial surge in tourism. Trump’s inspiration for this celebration likely stems from President Gerald Ford’s bicentennial commemoration in 1976, which showcased remarkable spectacles such as the American Freedom train and nautical parades.

It is worth noting that Trump previously organized a “Salute to America” event in 2019 to honor Independence Day. This event, held in Washington, D.C., at the National Mall, featured diverse military displays, a speech by President Donald Trump at the Lincoln Memorial, military aircraft flyovers, and an impressive fireworks display. The celebration coincided with traditional Independence Day activities, including the National Independence Day Parade and the televised A Capitol Fourth concert. Notably, it marked the first time in 68 years that a U.S. president addressed a crowd at the National Mall on Independence Day.

Throughout his 2019 address, President Trump emphasized the United States’ cultural and military achievements, underscoring themes of American exceptionalism and patriotism.
