Lawyers for former U.S. President Donald Trump have been warned about a possible new indictment related to the January 6 investigation. This would be the third indictment since Trump announced his candidacy for president.

However, Trump firmly denies any wrongdoing and claims that his actions were guided by professional legal advice. He believes the investigations are politically motivated to hinder his commitment to serving the American people. He has faced previous indictments, but has strongly opposed them.

Trump took to Truth Social to say:

“My attorneys had a productive meeting with the DOJ this morning, explaining in detail that I did nothing wrong, was advised by many lawyers, and that an Indictment of me would only further destroy our Country. No indication of notice was given during the meeting — Do not trust the Fake News on anything!”

Public opinion surprisingly suggests that the ongoing legal challenges might not negatively impact Trump’s chances of running for president again in 2024. According to a recent poll, most potential voters don’t see these legal issues as a significant obstacle to his future prospects. In fact, despite the legal battles, Trump’s popularity is on the rise in the polls. If he secures the GOP nomination, he is poised to compete with President Biden, and the polls indicate that Trump is either on par with Biden or even slightly ahead.
