A group of Republican representatives is turning on President Trump. In a recent press release, these legislators made it clear that it is up to the power of the states to contest the election, not Congress. Recently, some Republicans have publicly admitted their plans to object to the Electoral College count on Jan. 6th while others have supported calls to replace electors in battleground states. Now, these Republicans are opposing them and Trump by saying Congress does not hold the authority to reject these electors.
