Yesterday, the House of Representatives voted 233 -197 to impeach President Trump on charges of insurrection making him the first president in history to be impeached twice. Now, the impeachment process will move to the Senate. However, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced that the Senate will not reconvene before Jan. 19th meaning the trial will not be able to move forward until after President Trump has left office. During the first round of impeachment proceedings, 10 House Republicans turned on Trump and voted to impeach. Now, President Trump is putting his faith in loyal Senate Republicans to stand by his side and oppose convicting him.
