Former Fox News talking head and 90’s actress Stacey Dash is changing her tune on politics after having left the network.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Dash said that on Fox News she was “the angry, conservative, Black woman.”

“And at that time in my life it was who I was,” she continued.

Dash said her role at Fox News was to stir up political controversy.

“I’m not a victim of anyone,” she told the Daily Mail. Working for Fox at the time, that was my job from the place I was at. Stacey now would never work at Fox, would never work for a news network or be a news contributor.”

She also walked back her support of the former President Trump (Daily Mail):

Dash walked back her previous steadfast support for Trump, dismissing him as ‘not the president’ and telling conservatives to ‘give the new president a chance’.

As far as he’s concerned, [Trump] is not the president. We have a new president,’ she said.

‘Being a supporter of Trump has put me in some kind of box that I don’t belong in. But he’s not the president. I’m going to give the president that we have right now a chance.’

‘I think the Capitol Riots were appalling,’ she said. ‘When that happened I was like ‘Ok, I’m done. I’m truly done.’ Because senseless violence of any kind I denounce. What happened on January 6 was just appalling and stupid.’

Dash, 51, was fired from Fox News after she cursed on-air and said former President Barack Obama didn’t care about terrorism in 2017.

After leaving Fox News, Dash briefly ran for Congress in 2018 in California before withdrawing.

Since leaving Fox News the former Clueless star has largely remained out of the spotlight.
