MURDOCK: State Department Should Leave BLM Flags Furled

NEW YORK — Here are just four international challenges that America has confronted in the last few weeks of Joe Biden’s Reign of Error:

Federal encounters on the southern border with illegal aliens from 70+ countries zoomed from 17,106 in April 2020 to 178,622 last month — up 944 percent. As if his own department did not release these data, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas insists, “the border is closed.” This is as farcical as the recent Three Stooges-like footage of illegals dodging valiant, but overwhelmed, Border Patrol agents at Joya, Texas.

Senator Joh Kennedy (R – Louisiana) told Fox & Friends: “If you believe the border is closed, you believe in the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, and that Jimmy Hoffa died of natural causes.”

Cybercriminals shut down the Colonial Pipeline, creating chaos and Carteresque gas lines from Washington, D.C. to Florida. The perpetrators remain at large in Russia, rather than extradited to America for interrogation and prosecution. Biden remained silent about this for days and then tepidly announced that the Kremlin had nothing to do with this. As if he were a Russian asset (which Democrats insisted was President Donald J. Trump’s other job) Biden rewarded the Kremlin for its acquiescence (or worse) in this episode by erasing sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline connecting Russia to Germany. And then Biden decided that the time is now for a summit with Putin, showing that Moscow will not pay even a diplomatic price for Russian citizens hacking right into America’s internal energy flows.

Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip fired some 4,000 Iranian rockets at America’s beloved allies in Israel. Biden pushed a ceasefire before Israel could finish entombing these professional Jew killers beneath their own rubble.

And America still is trying to get China to explain how some germs slipped out of Wuhan, crept across the globe, landed in the USA, killed almost 600,000 Americans, and wacked nearly 3 million people worldwide. The economic destruction totals trillions. The socio-cultural devastation is incalculable.

Rather than focusing U.S. prestige on any one of these urgent problems, the State Department is distracting American diplomats with a “request for action” urging them to fly Black Lives Matter flags above embassies and consulates overseas starting today, the first anniversary of the death of George Floyd, which triggered widespread panic.

These national and global protests sparked a movement to confront systems perpetuating deep-seated inequities rooted in colonialism and the oppression of racial, tribal, ethnic, and other minority communities,” the State Department’s unclassified cable declared. “Mr. Floyd’s murder prompted an international outcry to seek racial justice and equity by dismantling systemic racism and eradicating police brutality affecting communities of color, most acutely, people of African descent.”

Why advance American and allied interests when State can act as BLM’s international marketing department?

Who can forget Obama’s 2009 international apology tour? This flag project turns American embassies into apology stations. US diplomatic posts will tell the world, in essence: America is a racist country where police gun down black people for sport.

“Black lives matter,” in lower-case, is a fine message. Conversely, waving the flag of Black Lives Matter, with capital letters, provides official U.S. government endorsement to a political movement with Marxist roots that is deeply anti-American and responsible for riots, arson, and destruction last year, after the death of George Floyd.

BLM fans who might love this development should try this thought experiment:

Imagine that it’s spring 2025. Biden is long gone, and the Oval Office has been reinvigorated with President Ron DeSantis or — even more dramatically — President Donald J. Trump has returned in a Reconquista to rival that of Ferdinand and Isabella in 1492. The GOP administration asks US embassies to wave the flag of the National Rifle Association, Tea Party Patriots, or the National Right to Life Committee. No, those peaceful groups lack the debris and dead bodies that Black Lives Matter left in its wake last spring and summer. But just stop and ponder the planetary chaos that would erupt if Republicans tried anything like this.

In contrast, there is no limit to the audacity and inappropriateness of daily Democrat behavior. This proves it, yet again — as if even one fresh particle of evidence were necessary.
