Kari Lake, a former candidate for Arizona Governor and news anchor, as well as a potential Senate candidate, voiced her support for Senate candidate Jim Justice on Twitter amidst an attack from the Department of Justice under President Biden’s administration.

The Department of Justice has filed a civil complaint against Jim Justice III, son of West Virginia Governor Jim Justice and a 2024 Senate candidate, and his 13 coal companies. The complaint accuses them of over 130 violations of federal mining law between 2018 and 2022, with unpaid fines and interest amounting to $7.6 million. The DOJ seeks to hold them accountable and retrieve the owed penalties.

Republican Governor Jim Justice, running for Senate, faces a challenge from Senator Joe Manchin. The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) claims that the Biden administration is unfairly targeting Governor Justice because of his candidacy, denouncing it as an abuse of power.

Expressing her thoughts on Twitter, Kari Lake wrote:

Yet another shameless attack against a Republican candidate by the Biden DOJ. This is a blatant abuse of power. When we take back the White House & Senate in 2024, we’re going to root out the corruption in the D.C. swamp

Governor Justice, with an estimated net worth exceeding $1 billion, is selling his family’s coal businesses as he seeks a Senate seat. He and his son have faced legal repercussions, including fines and penalties, for alleged non-compliance with mine reclamation and environmental regulations.

During a press briefing, Governor Justice hinted at the possibility of political motivations behind the actions taken by the Biden administration, implying that their actions may be influenced by the potential shift in Senate power that could occur if he were to emerge victorious in the election.
