Is this the straw that breaks the camel’s back?
The media has been stiff-arming Tara Reade’s allegations that former Vice President Joe Biden sexually assaulted her when she worked for him in the early 1990s.
According to Business Insider, Reade’s neighbor has now stepped forward to corroborate Reade’s claims:
“This happened, and I know it did because I remember talking about it,” Lynda LaCasse, who lived next door to Reade in the mid-’90s, told Insider.
LaCasse recanted to Business Insider that “[Biden] kind of put her up against a wall. And he put his hand up her skirt and he put his fingers inside her. She felt like she was assaulted, and she really didn’t feel there was anything she could do.”
She also told the publication that Reade was upset and crying.
As a refresher, here are the details we previously reported about Reade’s accusations:
Last week, a woman named Tara Reade accused presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden of sexual assault. An incident she alleges took place in Biden’s office in the 1990s when she was a staffer for Biden.
She detailed the incident to Krystal Ball from The Hill, “He was at first talking to someone, they went away. He said come here. And then when I gave him the gym bag it happened in one mounting almost and he had me against the wall. And then his hands were down my skirt and up my skirt.”
“[He] entered me with his hands as was trying to kiss me and sing to me,” she continued.
“He was trying to kiss me as I was pulling away. What I remember about that time is feeling really shocked [or] surprised. There was no real conversation right beforehand. There was no real precursor. This just happened.” she explained.
“I was obviously pulling away. He pulled back and said ‘hey man, I heard you liked me’ …something to that effect. And that’s what kind of jolted me. Like I was trying to think what I did wrong to bring that on me. And then…he looked angry or irritated with me…that’s when I knew I was in a very difficult position,” Reade continued.
Business Insider’s story featured a second corroborator, Lorraine Sanchez:
Sanchez, who worked with Reade in the office of a California state senator in the mid-’90s, told Insider that she recalls Reade complaining at the time that her former boss in Washington, DC, had sexually harassed her, and that she had been fired after raising concerns.
The mainstream media largely ignored Reade’s accusations. We previously noted CNN, New York Times, MSNBC and Washington Post failed to report on the story in the six days following the initial report, per the Daily Wire. This is ironic considering the media covered Christine Blasey-Ford’s accusations against Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh like a hawk in 2019.
The corroboration has arrived.
This story can no longer be ignored if the media’s coverage of the #MeToo movement was sincere.
It’s going to be difficult for the mainstream media to stiff-arm Tara Reade’s claims any longer.
Joe Biden is in trouble.
