President Trump is on the upswing, and establishment Republicans have recalculated, determining that associating with the President isn’t as bad politically as they initially thought. In Arizona, apparently, McCain and Flake have plenty of allies that are fair-weather friends of the President.
Enter Congresswoman Martha McSally from liberal Tuscon, who is campaigning to replace NeverTrumper Jeff Flake in the US Senate; she won’t even confirm that she voted for the President. When asked, she told the LA Times, ” “Not your business”; maybe she just puts media people in their place?
Her Tweets don’t sound like that’s the case. Notice what she tweeted after the Access Hollywood video came out.
Trump’s comments are disgusting. Joking about sexual assault is unacceptable. I’m appalled.

Dr. Kelli Ward, her primary opponent, called her out, saying McSally “left the door open that she might have voted for Hillary.” The establishment National Republican Senate Committee and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have their weight behind McSally, but Arizonans may not hand a seat to another unreliable ally of President Trump.
