Anti-Trump Senator Thinks Mueller Needs Protection

A free lesson about Washington politics: when someone says “It’s time” in a headline, that usually means “My agenda is”. The Hill newspaper, once one of the straight news sources in DC, has drifted much farther to the left in defense of the swamp, running the headline: “Schumer: It’s time to vote on legislation protecting Mueller”

See, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) senses an opportunity to weaken Trump the way a shark detects blood in the water. He wants to pass a law that basically prevents Special Counsel Robert Mueller from being fired, as he is currently part of the executive branch, and is vulnerable.

Schumer knows that if the bill goes through the House and Senate, it would be a wedge that could be used against Republicans in a “culture of corruption” sort of way, as their opposition could be weaponized for the midterms.

If Trump signs the bill, Mueller would have a license to do as he pleases; if Trump didn’t, Schumer could cry foul, and make the president look bad. This is the sort of swamp gamesmanship that the Hill newspaper cheers for, but the rest of America rejected when they hired President Trump to drain the swamp.
