MAD DASH: Watch Soldier Escape North Korea’s Killer Regime

Newly released video footage shows the harrowing and daring escape of a 24-year-old North Korean soldier, who successfully crossed the demilitarized zone into South Korea.

The footage starts by showing the North Korean soldier, who has been identified by his family name as Oh, driving a military vehicle at a high rate of speed towards the border between North Korea and South Korea. After flying by a North Korean military post, Oh’s fellow soldiers realize what is about to happen. North Korean soldiers are seen running towards the car with guns drawn as they attempt to gun him down.

In the video, it appears that Oh tried to drive the vehicle off the road to escape but got stuck. After Oh exits the car, in a matter of seconds, four North Korean soldiers are on top of him and begin firing their weapons. One North Korean soldier appears to drop to the ground to get a better shot at Oh.

Though sustaining traumatic injuries, Oh made it to the South Korean side and was able to hide in a pile of leaves behind a retaining wall. The video also shows the rescue of Oh as allies drag him to safety.
