Titans Clash As Billionaires Line Up Against Trump

President Trump’s unprecedented win in 2016 signaled that Americans no longer require a previously elected official to serve in the White House, and now big money wants in on the action. President Trump spent $66.1 million on his presidential campaign, and now billionaires are jockeying to outbid him and subvert the will of the 2016 electorate that rejected Washington’s swamp politics. After her recent Golden Globes appearance, liberals are clamoring for Oprah Winfrey to leverage her massive wealth and public goodwill into a 2020 run against President Trump; according to Politico, there are other lesser-known contenders arraying against the President.

Tom Steyer, hedge fund billionaire turned Democrat moneyman has already spent about $200 million against Republicans, $30 million of which is meant to buy the House of Representatives for the Democrats this November. Mark Cuban, famous for owning the Dallas Mavericks, starring on ABC’s Shark Tank and battling the President on Twitter, is also reportedly considering a 2020 run. Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg spent extensive time and money to prepare for a 2016 run, only to back off at the last moment, is still considering. Other names that have been mentioned include Disney’s Bob Iger, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerburg, and Starbucks’ Eric Schultz.

The uniting principle of all of the President’s wealthy opposition mentioned above is that their life was good the last time Democrats won promising hope and change and gave us self-serving policies that enriched liberals in DC, New York, and California. They want to put down the political uprising of 2016 because they don’t have the access and influence that they had under Obama, and they want it back. In 2020, Democrats are preparing to attack with big checks from wealthy coastal elites; President Trump had a record number of small donations in 2016 and held them off once before. 2020 will test whether liberal elites can buy their way in or whether Americans want to see the President make America great again.
