Rep. Schiff has been called out most recently for verbalizing classified information that he claims contradicts the memo authored by Rep. Devin Nunes, (R-Calif.). Some in the intelligence community argue that Nunes opened the door by claiming the FISA Court was not informed of the DNC and Fusion GPS’s role in the Steele Dossier; Schiff claims this is false, and they were aware, meaning that it was not a leak of classified information.
However, as the President’s son contends, Schiff has been accused of leaking before. Donald Trump Jr. thinks Schiff did so, over bathroom breaks during sensitive intelligence meetings. President Trump was likely referencing this in his early morning tweet.
Schiff has been the go-to source for the media to refute the facts laid out in the Memo, as he wants his own slap-dash version of the memo released from the Democrats to recapture the narrative on the Russia investigation. As such, one should draw their own conclusions to determine whether Schiff has the incentive to leak as the President says.
