As the Daily Caller reports:
Mike Pence became the first vice president to break a tie in a Cabinet confirmation vote on Tuesday.
Pence cast the 51st vote, which pushed Donald Trump’s secretary of education Betsy DeVos over the line, and couldn’t help but smile and laugh while doing so.
“The ayes appear to have it,” he announced to the Senate chamber with a grin on his face. “The ayes do have it.”
Pence’s vote is a victory for parents in underserved school districts everywhere, and a major defeat for Democrats and their allies in the teacher’s unions. The days of Democrats condemning children born through no fault of their own to schools in crappy zip codes where they remain uneducated and fall prey to a life of crime and welfare are over.
And it’s only the beginning. We’re not even remotely sick of winning yet.
