27-year-old Tony Foreman had attended a free speech rally in California with friends, followed by an evening at a local bar.
Upon leaving the bar—still wearing his pro-Trump clothing—Foreman saw another vehicle ram through the automated parking gate and smash into his car in the bar’s parking lot.
The driver of the other car was an Armenian gang member, in a car with other gang members. The driver was initially looking to exchange insurance information for the accident, they quickly noticed Foreman’s conservative bumper stickers—including a Gadsden flag, an American flag, and other pro-republics messages.
Upon seeing the stickers, the driver walked back to his car—and his fellow gang members exited the car, wielding knives. As one of the gang members shouted, “I’m going to shank you, white boy,” Foreman was stabbed a total of nine times.
The police, when asked for comment, said that the attack didn’t appear to be pre-meditated but it was “racially-charged.”
Foreman remains in the hospital, and has already endured twelve hours of surgery.
“We always hear about violence from the left, but I never thought it would happen to me,” Foreman said. “Next thing I know, I woke up in a hospital bed with 9 stab wounds for having patriotic stickers on my car. It really makes me sad to be attacked for my beliefs and who I am. I don’t wish this upon anyone, no matter your political views, and I hope my experience will help wake people up and stop this nonsense.”
