White House chief of staff John Kelly on Thursday dismissed rumors he’s close to quitting or being fired by President Trump.
Kelly addressed reports of friction between himself and the president during a surprise appearance in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room.
“I’m not quitting today,” he told reporters. “I just talked to the president. I don’t think I’m being fired today. And I’m not so frustrated in this job that I’m thinking of leaving.”
Trump has blasted media reports this week suggesting his chief of staff is on the verge of exiting the White House due to frustration with his role or the administration.
