President Donald Trump slammed the New York Times on Thursday after its editorial board openly urged voters to contact Republican senators and tell them not to support the Senate Republican tax reform bill.
In Thursday morning’s tweets, Trump called the “failing” Times a “pipe organ” and “virtual lobbyist” for the Democratic Party
The Failing @nytimes, the pipe organ for the Democrat Party, has become a virtual lobbyist for them with regard to our massive Tax Cut Bill. They are wrong so often that now I know we have a winner!

The Times proceeded to send out a series of tweets with contact information for seven Republican senators who are considered more persuadable to vote against the Republican effort to overhaul the tax code.
The Republican senators included were Sens. Jeff Flake (Ariz.), John McCain (Ariz.), Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Bob Corker (Tenn.), James Lankford (Okla.), and Jerry Moran (Kan.).
