Well, Bye!
On Wednesday, CNN Money ran a propaganda piece for the Deferred Action Childhood Arrivals program, as they told the story of the Velez sisters in New Jersey. The younger sister Alex told CNN, “I will leave. I will leave America as soon as possible,” she said. “I want to be able to leave on my terms. I’m not going to be waiting for anyone to come for me.”
That was supposed to tug at your heartstrings; in fact, it’s not such a bad idea. “Daniela and I will go to Ecuador and start over with my family there,” Alex said. “At least we will feel safe with family by our side.”
Now, President Trump was willing to accommodate people like the Velez sisters, but the Democrats are too busy playing politics with border security to let him. Short of finding a fair middle ground, the Velez sisters have the infrastructure to return to Ecuador; who can blame them for not returning to socialist Venezuela?
From the story, the Velez sisters sound like fine young girls; but are on the wrong side of the law all the same. Self-deporting could lead to two perfectly good outcomes: they return to America legally, or they make Ecuador a better place; either way, it’s not as bad as CNN would tell you.
