San Francisco, in the federalist laboratory of democracy, is what a city looks like with almost no conservative influence, and one party, liberal rule. San Francisco residents are fleeing to lower cost, safer states because the insane liberalism is too much.
CBS’ KCBS told the story of Carole Dabak, a 40 year resident of the Bay Area, who said “I loved it here when I first got here. I really loved it here. But it’s just not the same,” Dabak said. “We don’t like it here anymore. You know, we don’t like this sanctuary state status and just the politics,” she said. She is moving to Tennessee.
U-Haul reports that California has topped Illinois as the state with the most outflow; CBS reported that the U-Haul stores in San Jose can’t get enough trucks back to meet demand. Bay Area sanctuary cities and their crime rates make it less desirable still, particularly in the wake of the high-profile Kate Steinle murder.
San Francisco has insanely high housing costs because of zoning regulations, as well as property taxes, making it unaffordable for many, as their housing is 66% higher than the national average. “You can’t even contemplate getting into the housing market here,” Russel Hancock of Joint Venture Silicon Valley told CBS. “And I don’t mean just service workers, but highly skilled professionals. The tech elite is having a hard time affording reasonable housing in Silicon Valley.”
