Vice President Mike Pence wasn’t having Nancy Pelosi’s line that a $1,000 bonus is “crumbs”. Pence, unlike Minority Leader Pelosi (D-Calif.), doesn’t have tens of millions of dollars at his disposal, and the real Americans that support him are the same way.
“I come from the Joseph A. Bank wing of the West Wing,” Pence said. The Vice President continued: “Okay, you with me on that? …Seriously, people stopped me and said, `Is that a new suit?’ And I said, `Two for one.’”
He also highlighted a truth that the USA Today account omitted. He said that in his part of America, $1,000 isn’t “crumbs”. He said we call that, “Christmas”.
The Vice President has been a congressman and a Governor, but from his words, it’s clear that he wasn’t always, and understands the value of such a sum. Pelosi on the other hand barely gets dinner for that.
