Hilario “Eli” Yanez wants to be an American. He was brought to the United States illegally as a one-year-old from Mexico and has more going for him than native-born Democrats.
Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military? Really!…..

Eli appreciates the compassionate approach President Trump has offered to take with him and the millions of “Dreamers” in his position. He sees right through Pelosi and Schumer, who he took to task for “using us as pawns”. “They should never have shut down the government over DACA,” he said, calling out Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) overtly.
Eli is right; if Democrats cared first and foremost about securing the future for people like Eli, they would accept the terms of the President’s compromise, and allow border security, including the wall, with a deal to let people like Eli stay. According to Rasmussen, 52% of Americans want Dreamers like Eli to stay, and have border security measures; only 32% oppose the plan.
The President has won the argument on this issue, but Democrats would rather harm the people they claim to care about rather than hand the President a win. Eli said he gets “goosebumps” when he hears the “Star-Spangled Banner”, and would probably make for a better American than Schumer or Pelosi; if they have their way, he may not get the chance.
