White House deputy communications director Josh Raffel will leave the White House, according to Axios.
The former Hollywood publicist joined the administration early in 2017 to run communications for the Office of American Innovation and was promoted in the fall to deputy communications director.
Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump quickly grew to trust Raffel, who had represented Kushner’s company in the past, despite the fact he is a Democrat and supported Hillary Clinton, Axios reported.
“Josh is honest, passionate and thoughtful. Whether it was offering strategic guidance on the communications for tax reform or a foreign trip, Josh’s guidance was invaluable,” Ivanka Trump told Axios. “The White House won’t be the same without him.”
