Trump Drops The Hammer On Honduras

President Donald Trump threatened to cut foreign aid to Honduras over a caravan of its citizens seeking to illegal enter the U.S. via the Mexico border.

The President also took aim at the Mexican government, who by and large failed to stop the caravan from trespassing through its territory until the U.S. government began responding officially. Trump has threatened to end NAFTA negotiations and pull out of the deal over the Mexican government’s conduct.

Mexican authorities responded to Trump’s Sunday threat to rebuke NAFTA by pledging to disband the caravan and allow some transmitters to apply for asylum in Mexico. The organizers, however, said many members of the group will continue marching north towards the U.S.-Mexico border where, if they claim asylum and are with a family unit, they legally must be released into the interior of the country.
