President Trump hit Speaker Ryan in 2016, saying, “When Mitt Romney chose Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential running mate, “that was the end” of Romney’s chances to win. The Romney wing of the party tells us what we want to hear, then does the bidding of everybody but us once the election is over. Speaker Ryan is the highest ranking Romney Republican in Washington, and we’d rather they didn’t have that sort of power.
