Vladimir Putin just won reelection with 77 percent of the vote. Yet, a Russian state-run poll states that Putin only has a 48.4 percent approval, or “trust with important governmental questions”, according to the April 15 poll, reported by United Press International via the Moscow Times. Putin has previously enjoyed absurdly high approval ratings, if for no other reason than Russia isn’t the kind of place where you publicly air opinions against the government. We had to mention it because if Obama’s approval was higher than Putin’s, the media would be all over that story.
