President Trump’s Attorney General has been under fire from the president and media alike for his recusal in the Russia investigation and it just got worse. A personal friend and Fox News host Judge Andrew Napolitano has joined the party and slammed Jeff Sessions handling of the Russia investigation.
According to The Daily Caller:
Judge Andrew Napolitano commented on President Trump’s disapproval of Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ recusal from the Mueller Russia investigation Thursday, saying Sessions should have shied away from the job considering the context of the 2016 presidential election.
“Jeff Sessions, in my view, and I say this as a personal friend — we have a lot of mutual friends and I’ve known him for years — it pains me to be critical of a friend, but I have to be intellectually honest,” Napolitano began.
“Jeff Sessions shouldn’t have accepted the job,” Napolitano said.
Napolitano added that Sessions should have told the president-elect when Sessions was first nominated for the position that he was “going to be in the middle of this Russia investigation, as illegitimate as I think it is, and as you know it to be, it’s going to happen, and I’m going to be a witness.”
Sessions has taken the heat from President Trump while continuing to do his job. But as the pressure mounts will he step down, or continue to move forward since the damage has already been done?
