Rep. Dave Brat (R-Va.) is a Freedom Caucus member and isn’t part of anybody’s echo chamber. He cut through the static and told us the truth: the Democrats had plenty of opportunities to fix this problem, but wanted to beat President Trump more than they wanted to fix our problems.
Don’t forget: Democrats shut down the government until they quickly figured out that Americans weren’t with them and they relented. The president offered to compromise with them and give relief to the DACA recipients in exchange for wall funding, but Democrats said no to that. Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) both called Democrat bluffs on the “separated children”, and Democrats aren’t supporting that either.
Given their silence under Obama and Clinton, like Brat says, they want a political issue for November, not a solution. They didn’t have a problem when Barack Obama presided over the children being caged at the border, so long as they were winning elections.
Democrats will obstruct all day long, no matter who it hurts, as long they think they are winning. None of the fake outcry and outrage is about fairness or humanitarianism. It’s all just a sick political game to them. Anything else is just more fake news.
