The Staten Island Republican earned several Trump tweets, as he was being challenged by Michael Grimm, who resigned a few years ago in a scandal.

Grimm was a vocal opponent of the Tea Party and was basically a liberal version of Roy Moore, and President Trump didn’t want to lose a seat in his hometown in the five boroughs of New York. Donovan isn’t Mr. Conservative, but like the president, we’re glad Grimm lost.
