Trump-Cohen Tape Released

CNN has released an audio recording of President Trump and his former lawyer Michael Cohen discussing a potential payment to buy the rights of a Playboy model’s story about an alleged affair with President Trump.

The media has tried to say that President Trump tells Cohen to “pay with cash” but Trump’s legal team says the president told Cohen “don’t pay with cash”.

According to The Daily Wire:

The tape was first aired on CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time” with Cohen’s lawyer Lanny Davis appearing on the show.

“I need to open up a company for the transfer of all of that info regarding our friend David,” Cohen says in the recording, which CNN says is most likely a reference to David Pecker, the Chairman and CEO of American Media.

Trump’s response is difficult to hear, although his legal team insists that he said, “Don’t pay with cash … check,” followed by Cohen interrupting him, saying, “No, no, no, no, no. I got it.”

After listening to the audio clip more than a dozen times, it appears as though the transcript provided by Trump’s legal team is the most accurate and it does appear that Trump said, “Don’t pay with cash … check.”

The anticipation of the release of this tape was hyped up by the media. But it seems to be less implicating than they expected, and at the end of the day has nothing to do with how the president performs his presidential duties.
