Trump Considering Manafort Pardon?

Rudy Giuliani has stated that Trump asked for his guidance about a possible Paul Manafort pardon. He was concerned about how the prosecutors were treating him.

According to The Hill:

President Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, said Thursday that Trump asked for advice on whether to pardon his former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort.

Giuliani told The Washington Post that Trump sought advice while Manafort’s financial fraud trial was taking place, and that the president felt that Manafort was being mistreated by federal prosecutors.

The president’s lawyers advocated against issuing a pardon in this case, saying Trump should wait until after special counsel Robert Mueller concludes his Russia probe, according to Giuliani, who said that Trump agreed.

Giuliani’s remarks come two days after Manafort was convicted on eight charges of bank and tax fraud.

It is unclear whether President Trump is still considering it. But in an interview with Fox News, he neither confirmed nor denied his intentions. So, the possibility still exists.
