Trump has changed many of the fuel economies ruled the EPA had in place during the Obama administration so that they would be more consumer oriented. They were set up before so that companies would have to sell a certain number of cars that meet a threshold for its fuel economy, these cars never really sold well because Americans are not interested in these kinds of vehicles. Consumer reports form automotive companies show that Americans are far more interested in Trucks and SUVs than any other car, but these cars do not fit the EPA’s rules. In order to combat these, companies would raise the price of SUVs and Trucks because they needed to make up the money they lost on the other vehicles. Trump is making cars cheaper again by slashing these rules!
