Anti-Trump actor Robert De Niro is reportedly trying to find a person to challenge Trump in 2020. He seems to have set his sights on Beto O’Rouke the Democrat who is going up against Ted Cruz for Senate in Texas.

According to The Hill:

Robert De Niro says Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas), who is locked in a tight Senate battle, might be able to one day challenge President Trump for the White House.

“This Beto O’Rourke seems interesting,” De Niro told Bloomberg News on Thursday, when asked who would be the best replacement for Trump.

O’Rourke is trying to unseat incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz (R) in the Lone Star State.

Recent polls have consistently shown Cruz leading, but the race has drawn national attention to the deep-red state.

O’Rourke is not the most seasoned candidate but he can fundraise which makes him a popular pick to run against the President. He will probably need to win against Cruz first, which seems unlikely.
