Speculation has been swirling about who will replace John Kelly as Trump’s chief of staff. Many people have pulled their names out of contention by a Republican congressman is suggesting that he thinks Trump’s son-in-law will be his next chief of staff.
According to Fox News:
Rep. Matt Gaetz made a bold prediction Friday on “Outnumbered Overtime,” forecasting that Jared Kushner will be named as President Trump’s next chief of staff.
The Florida Republican told Harris Faulkner that he was making an “informed guess” on who will replace John Kelly and said Trump will soon select his son-in-law.
“I believe the president views this … conflict period coming up with House Democrats as one where he needs loyalist people closest to him. I’ll go ahead and make that prediction,” he said.
The comments came shortly after former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) reportedly removed himself from consideration for the position after a meeting with Trump.
It remains unclear who will take over the position but people have even speculated that Trump could extend his agreement with Kelly to remain in the position.
