President Trump has threatened to close the southern border if Democrats decide to not give funding for a border wall in a new spending package.
According to The Daily Wire:
On the seventh day of the federal government shutdown, President Trump threatened to “close the Southern Border entirely” if Democrats continue to reject his demands for money to “finish” building a wall on the U.S.-Mexican border.
Last Friday, Democrats refused to approve $5 billion for the wall, even though the amount is just 0.13% of the budget. Instead, Democrats — led by Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), expected to become Speaker of the House in January — decided to let the government partially shut down instead.
“We will be forced to close the Southern Border entirely if the Obstructionist Democrats do not give us the money to finish the Wall & also change the ridiculous immigration laws that our Country is saddled with,” the president wrote on Twitter.

Trump said the United States loses “sooooo much money” to Mexico under the old North American Free Trade Act, which Trump replaced with a new pact.

President Trump went on to claim that the Democrats are only being obstructionists in order to get back at him and ultimately know that a border wall is needed and will work.
