Michael Cohen accused President Trump of directing him to lie to Congress and directing him to meet with Vladimir Putin in Russia to discuss a Trump Tower in Moscow in a recent report.
President Trump has issued a firey response. Trump is accusing Cohen of lying to reduce his jail time.
According to CNBC:
President Donald Trump on Friday accused his former lawyer Michael Cohen of “lying to reduce his jail time” in the wake of a bombshell report from BuzzFeed News that said the president himself directed Cohen to lie to Congress.
Trump did not directly address the BuzzFeed article in his tweet, which added, “Watch his father-in-law!”
Kevin Corke, @FoxNews “Don’t forget, Michael Cohen has already been convicted of perjury and fraud, and as recently as this week, the Wall Street Journal has suggested that he may have stolen tens of thousands of dollars….” Lying to reduce his jail time! Watch father-in-law!

BuzzFeed, citing two federal law enforcement officials involved in the investigation, reported Thursday night that Trump directed his former personal lawyer and fixer to lie to Congress about talks regarding a possible Trump Tower project in Moscow.
According to the report, special counsel Robert Mueller’s team of investigators found out about Trump’s directive to Cohen by sifting through Trump Organization emails, interviews with witnesses from the company, text messages and other documents. Then, BuzzFeed reported, Cohen acknowledged that he received the instructions from Trump during his interviews with the special counsel’s office.
The report by Buzzfeed has been unable to be confirmed independently by NBC and CNBC.
