Trump is the Comms Director, White House Will Not Fill Role

President Trump is viewed by those within the White House as the Communications Director. The post has been vacant since it was vacated by former Fox News exec Bill Shine.

Current Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney reportedly has no intentions to fill the vacancy.

According to The Daily Mail:

President Donald Trump has not had a communications director since Bill Shine left in the beginning of March, and the president does not intend to fill the vacant position.

A former White House official told Politico in a Monday article that Trump will always be his own communications director.

‘Whatever Trump tweets out that morning will be the headline, regardless of what the communications plan is,’ the former official said.

‘A lot of people take their frustrations out on the communications team, but Trump will always be the communications director,’ the official continued.

Former staff members have said that if the message doesn’t come from Trump, it has no value. Meaning, if they answered a question one way, the president could answer it another way weeks later.
