President Trump has given a statement before the press and American people explaining his decision to target and kill the notorious Iranian general Qasem Soleimani, who he stated was behind the perpetration of acts of terror across the world over the past 20 years, including recent rocket attacks which killed an American citizen and badly injured several American servicemembers.
Trump also stated that the action was taken to ‘stop a war’ not ‘start a war.’ He went on to say that while the US does not seek ‘regime change’ in Iran, the regime’s support for proxy terror groups throughout the region must end.
