Former President Donald Trump is telling three different National GOP groups to stop using his name and likeness.
According to reports, Trump’s lawyers asked the National Republican Congressional Committee, the Republican Senatorial Committee, and most notable, the Republican National Committee to stop using his name and likeness in their fundraising efforts and merchandising.
A Trump adviser told Politico Playbook that Trump was “furious” his name is being “bandied about by organizations that help Republicans who voted to impeach him – without his permission.”
This will remain a difficult task for these organizations when the former President has popularized so many policies and endeared himself to the base of the Republican Party over the last 5 years.
Trump’s adviser also told Playbook Trump “remains committed to the Republican Party and electing America First conservatives” which lines up with some of his recent political activity.
Within the last week, President Trump has announced a slew of endorsements in addition to placing a target on the backs of some members of the GOP who have been voicing their disdain with the former President.
Last week, former President Trump endorsed Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) for reelection.
He also called out a number of GOP elected officials in his speech at CPAC in Orlando, FL last week as well. They include:
-Senator Richard Burr
-Senator Mitt Romney
-Senator Bill Cassidy
-Senator Susan Collins
-Senator Ben Sasse
-Senator Lisa Murkowski
-Senator Pat Toomey
-CongressmanTom Rice
-Congressman Adam Kinzinger
-Congressman Dan Newhouse
-Congresswoman Liz Cheney
-Congresswoman Jaime Herrera
-Congressman John Katko
– Congressman Pete Meijer
– Congressman Fred Upton
– Congressman Antony Gonzales
Unfortunately for this list of GOP lawmakers the latest rumblings in Trump world appear he is willing to back up those words with actions:
Trump’s former campaign adviser Corey Lewandowski is reportedly in talks to head the Trump team’s latest political venture. The details are still being kept under wraps but sources say that Lewandowski is the frontrunner to lead Trump’s upcoming super PAC.
Lewandowski served as Trump’s first campaign adviser in 2015 through the 2016 presidential primaries before being let go. Then in 2020, Lewandowski served as a top adviser to the Trump re-election campaign.
Spokesman Jason Miller told Fox News that the former President’s supporters will be “impressed” with the political operation being built after a group of Trump’s closest 2020 advisers gathered last week in Mar-a-Lago.
