Atlanta schools will force children ages K-12 to wear face covering when they return to school next month. Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced that all Atlanta public schools will also require staff to wear face masks in schools. The move directly goes against an order by Governor Brian Kemp which prohibits mask mandates, however, the order stopped short of making the requirement in schools.
“We’re not going to have a mask mandate for our kids,” Kemp said in May. “Our teachers have had the ability to get vaccinated. It certainly doesn’t keep anyone from wearing a mask.”
